Must Farm: What was life like in the Bronze Age?
This teaching activity uses evidence from the exceptionally well‑preserved Must Farm Bronze Age village, often called “Britain’s Pompeii.”
Co‑created with the Cambridge Archaeological Unit and the University of Cambridge, the resources include site and artefact images, reconstruction illustrations, and videos showing archaeologists excavating and using replica tools. The materials also feature bite-sized videos within PowerPoints, plus teaching essentials and six ready‑made activity presentations to help KS2 teachers deliver the topic as a single lesson or a longer depth study.

Teaching idea
The PowerPoint resources help pupils learn about archaeologists and the discoveries from the Must Farm Bronze Age village, forming the Bronze Age part of the Stone Age to Iron Age unit.
Teachers can use either a single‑lesson plan focusing on why Must Farm is important and what it reveals about Bronze Age life, or a six‑lesson in-depth study that explores the site in more detail and compares it with other prehistoric sites.
