Fylingdales Moor Wildfire, 2025: A Climate-driven Threat to the Natural and Historic Environment

In the summer of 2025, one of the largest wildfires ever recorded in England spread across Fylingdales Moor in Yorkshire, burning around 18 square kilometres and leaving some areas smouldering until Christmas. Historic England has developed a new case study about this event, which describes the wildfire as a crisis driven by climate change, and explores the impacts not only on local communities and nature, but also on the historic environment of the moors and its irreplaceable heritage.
Counter-terrorism security and the heritage sector: Interpreting Martyn’s Law

Join speakers from Historic England, the Home Office and the Security Industry Authority, who will help provide greater clarity on certain aspects of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act and the Section 27 Guidance produced by the Home Office.
