Camellia house. Early C19 incorporating mid C18 part to rear. For the Wentworth Estate. Ashlar sandstone facade with brick returns, glazed roof; centre of C18 part: limestone, slate roof. Single storey. Main front : 3:3:3 bays. Plinth, stone steps to central 3 bays which break forward. 4 Ionic columns flank full-height casements with glazing bars which incorporate door. Outer bays : fully glazed with 40-pane sashes interspersed with Ionic pilasters which are doubled at each end. Plain frieze, cornice. Balustrade (missing above bay 6 and with original statues and ornaments removed).
Rear : 3-bay pediment flanked by low side wings, set back. Plinth, rusticated quoins and central bay. Part-glazed door beneath keyed round arch and flanked by columns with alternate blocking. Outer bays have sashes beneath keyed round arches. Architrave and cornice break forward above keystones and columns; plain tympanum. Side wings each have 6-panel door flanked by sashes with glazing bars; flat arches; cornice and monoclinal roof with hipped end.
Interior : Camellia beds flank pedimented doorway leading to rear room. C18 part in poor condition at time of re-survey.
