Biennial Report on the Care of the Government Historic Estate 2023-25

This Report examines the condition, management and prospects of over 6,500 heritage assets held and overseen by Government departments and agencies.

Every two years, these bodies are asked to account for their stewardship: this report assesses their answers covering the period 2023 to 2025.

As well as analysing the answers, the report also explores current issues that impact on the circumstances and use of heritage assets in the care of the report’s contributors and considers the broader themes that are influencing the future of the government historic estate:
