Description
The collection contains approximately 2,000 images taken by professional photographer Brian Stokoe between the 1970s and the 1990s. The photographs were commissioned by the RCHME. Stokoe also taught at the University of Derby, Newcastle College and the University of Northumbria, and was based in Tyne and Wear. The collection almost exclusively covers this and surrounding areas. It is particularly strong in recording industry and threatened buildings. Other subject matter includes: Shopping centres, suburbs, new build housing estates, pubs, street scenes, docks.
