Further information and updates The collection contains 57 black and white photographs taken by John Davies between 1983 and 2000.
21 photographs show collieries before and after reclamation landscaping. The sites are mainly in County Durham and the images were taken between 1985 and 1990.
20 images show views of railway stations and structures along the Great Western route from London Paddington to Bristol.
16 images show Birmingham in about 2000 depicting many of the landmarks in the centre of the city. Four of these images are duplicate large exhibition quality prints. They were taken as part of John Davies 'Metropoli' series of photographs.

The collection was acquired between 1993 and 2000.
